Account Director

The Account Director is a seasoned interactive marketing strategist and account leader. In this senior level leadership position, you are responsible for understanding and applying our products and services to meet the needs of our client’s business objectives and strategies. This is accomplished through an understanding of their climate, category, company, customer and competition. This position mandates exceptional knowledge of general business practices as well as interactive and general marketing principles.

You will also have management responsibilities for 3 – 4 account management team members who will be reporting into you and form the core of a team you will lead. You will be tasked to work with to manage and mentor those on your team to ensure seamless strategic and tactical delivery of Social Science Marketing’s products and services to our client base.

 

Account Management Responsibilities

  • Management of a mutually productive relationship and clear communications between client and the company at all levels
  • Manage relationships with senior level client staff as well as day-to-day contacts
  • Providing marketing counsel and advice to clients and others
  • Developing and implementing both short and long-term strategic marketing programs and initiatives for clients
  • Identification of client growth and upsell opportunities as a means to evolve and grow client relationships
  • Providing strategic direction and guidance to agency personnel to ensure fulfillment of client objectives and expectations
  • Ensure complete, timely and actionable direction to all departments on all client programs
  • Management of the day-to-day activities of specific Social Science Marketing accounts
  • Strategic implementation of Social Science Marketing’s policies, procedures and products
  • Provide agency management with client communications and information relevant to the Social Science Marketing’s overall performance on accounts
  • Management of account and client financials inclusive of estimates, budgets, billing  and tracking of spend
  • Provide agency management with client communications and information relevant to the Social Science Marketing’s overall performance on accounts
  • Analyze agency/campaign reports and communicate key findings to client
  • Prepare and present presentations associated with agency and client performance associated with programs being managed
  • Assume other agency responsibilities as directed by agency principals

 

Management Responsibilities

  • Successfully build, maintain and manage team of 3 – 4 Social Science marketing account management team members though consistent communication, mentorship, training  and account performance
  • Manage account teams comprised of specialists representing  various agency disciplines (SEO, SEM, Online Media, Design/Creative, Development)

 

Required Competencies

  • A comprehensive knowledge, inclusive of best practices, of online advertising techniques, promotional vehicles such as Social Media, SEO, Online Media, SEM, Email Marketing, Mobile, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of tracking, measurement and analytics platforms and metrics used to measure and track campaign performance, inclusive of Omniture, Google Analytics and others.
  • Understanding of all interactive marketing KPIs, inclusive of CPC, CTR, CPL, CPA, Conversion/Action Rate and others
  • Management of agency financial process inclusive of Net/Gross, estimate, time tracking and campaign budgets
  • A thorough understanding of interactive and general marketing principals
  • Demonstrated experience in applying the underpinnings of online marketing, as well as tactical knowledge around how strategies are implemented across various channels inclusive of SEO, SEM, Online Media, Social Media, Application Development and more

Experience

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 7 – 10 years of Advertising or Interactive Marketing Agency experience, inclusive of 3 – 5 years of personnel/team management responsibilities
  • Current Google AdWords certification is a plus
  • Clients & Profits experience a plus
  • Ability to showcase thought leadership, best practices and marketing prowess via writing for Blogs or industry publications a plus.
